Match Report:

It was a very cold and very wet afternoon in Warminster. The rain was coming down hard and fast but nothing was going to stop the Warminster girls from playing. Warminster got off to a quick start scoring goals and generally dominating play in the centre 3rd.

In the second half of the game Bruton pulled back two goals which made for a tense final quarter, but the Warminster defence remained strong and there just wasn’t enough time for Bruton to make up the difference.

At the end of the game everyone rushed inside to dry off and warm up.

Warminster played well and the effort put into training is beginning to show in game situations. Keep up the hard work girls!

Result   loss 1-0

Match Report:

As the score suggests this was a close match. Both teams played well with Chafyn Grove scoring their goal in the 3rd quarter.

Warminster held most of the play and had the majority of the scoring chances, however were unable to get the ball through the hoop!

Nevertheless Warminster girls continued to try up until the final whistle and were very unlucky not to equalise.

The girls are improving all the time and it shows in the way they pass the ball and move around the court.

Overall a very positive game, keep up the hard work girls!

Warminster 3 – Monkton 1 (win)

Warminster 0 – Wells 1 (loss)

Match Report:

It was a cold and windy afternoon at Monkton school, but the sun was out and all the players were in high spirits.

The first match against Monkton was fast and furious with Warminster passing well and creating space on the court. The partnership between Hattie (C) and Natalie (GA) worked really well with the girls passing and looping round moving the ball quickly causing problems for the Monkton defence. Warminster came off the court excited and pleased with the way they had played.

The next game was against Wells. The score of this game does not reflect the possession and the shooting chances that Warminster created. The second half of the game was dominated by Warminster defence with Wells players unable to get the ball into a shooting position. Unfortunately Warminster just couldn’t get the ball into the goal, but the effort that they displayed was a greater achievement than winning the match. Well done girls keep up the good effort!

Match Report:

SCS were a very strong team, and for the first three quarters we let them run rings around us!  But the last quarter was amazing and we scored 4 goals!  The team really started working; stringing together great passes down the court, and completely out played SCS!  Let’s do this the whole match next time!

Match Report:

The  U11B team were playing Norman Court U10A team.  They were fast around the court and passed the ball well.  The team were 1-5 down after the first quarter.  We then marked really efficiently and broke down their patterns of play.  They only scored 5 more goals over the next 3 quarters.

Anna W was voted player of the match by the other team and her own team.  Izzy R moved nicely in and around the circle and the shooting will follow!

Well done to all!

Match Report:

First match of the netball season went really well!  The team worked really well together, and moved round lots of positions.  Lots of good passing patterns down the court.  Maisie scored all 4 goals!  Everybody played superbly, and had  a lovely time with the opposition!

Result

Lost (5-15)

Match Report:

After a long journey the team did a good warm up.  It was a cold day, but the team were keen.  Perrott were a strong, fast team and Warminster had to work hard to keep up.  We had a few good runs of passing down the court, but work needs to be done on centre passes and consistent patterns of play.

The second and last quarter were the best.  Jade and Robyn in defence were a great combination, with Katie playing well in the middle.  Hattie worked hard in both attack and defence.

Good determination, despite the loss!

Team

Result

Won (9-4)

Match Report:

It was the first game of the season for the U11A team and everyone was looking forward to a friendly match.

It was very windy so the girls needed to do short passes, avoiding overheads.  Warminster won all 4 quarters, which was a great achievement!  At half time I changed them all round, and the ball flowed more freely down the court.  Despite the wind the shooters did very well popping in 9 goals.  Hannah scored six of these.  Katie held the game together really well in the middle, and was always available for passes.

The whole team defended well and made great interceptions.  We need to work on really taking advantage of these breaks.  A great first game, well done to all the team!

Lost (2-0)

Won (1-0)

Match Report:

It was the first game of the season for the U11B team and everyone was looking forward to a friendly match.

First Warminster played the Stonar B team. It was a close game dominated by some really good attacking passing and moving from Warminster. Unfortunately we just couldn’t get the ball in the net! Stonar’s goals came late in the game so there just wasn’t enough time for a comeback. As it’s only the start of the season the players positions have yet to be decided and so each quarter the Warminster players were swapped around. However they coped really well and adapted to their positions quickly.

The girls came off the court confident and pleased with the effort they had put in.

After a quick water break Warminster were back on the court again to play the Stonar C team. Another close game with the scores tied going into the final quarter. Swaps were made and players came back onto the court. Some good attacking passing crossing the court ended up with Lucy standing under the post ready to shoot. She shot and the ball passed through the net barley touching the sides! Perfect goal!

Overall it was a great start to the season and with a few more coaching sessions the goals should start flying in! Well done girls.

U11A Rugby against Perrott Hill

On Saturday 3rd December 2011, the U11A boys played a rugby match against Perrott Hill. For both teams, it was the last game of the season so we really wanted to end it on a high.

Perrott Hill matched us in play but we were always a step ahead. They had a stronger scrum than us but we made some really strong tackles to stop them scoring.

Perrott Hill had a big guy called Max who was very strong and tough to tackle but we have George who is also as strong and Perrott Hill’s defence all tried to tackle him but he charged through them all to score a fantastic try.

We won the game 35-21 with tries from Felix (2), George, Alfie and Robbie and all the tries were converted. This was a great game and very entertaining for our parents and grand parents who came to watch.

The game against KES at the KES tournament and this game were our best games this term where we showed just how good the year 6 boys can be at rugby.

Mr Edwards congratulated all of us for how well we played.

Next term we are playing hockey and football.
